Binding energy for lighter nuclei is large and for heavier nuclei is less. I don't understand this concept because, for example, take lithium nuclei which has three proton and more energy is needed to overcome the repulsive force between these protons---agreed. But if we take uranium which has 92 protons then more and more repulsive force is present and more binding energy is needed to keep them in tact. Then how can we say binding energy is less for heavier nuclei when compared to lighter nuclei. Thanks in advance revered members
